Leg Workout

At thirty weeks prego I am trying my hardest to stay motivated to keep working out. I was a little limited first trimester with feel nauseous/exhausted all of the time and started to get back into during the second and have probably been most active in my third. According to everything online working out during your pregnancy can help with labor and postpartum. For me, I have felt so much better physically and mentally when I am working out regularly the past few months. Even during the first trimester my husband was good about us still walking every night, this was followed by a nap and snack after work! I figured I would share what I have been doing for a leg workout the past few weeks – I try and do this twice a week, 3 sets of the whole workout followed by a 15 minute cool down on the bike. I like to use a body bar  (most gyms have them) during this, but you can do it with light weights at your side or keep your hands free! I usually do this before work and then head back to the gym at lunch for another 30 minutes of cardio. This workout could easily be done at home followed by a walk or jog outside to loosen up your legs after! And always remember to stretch!! Hope you enjoy!

At home workout!

Here is a quick easy workout my friend and I made a few weekends ago! Neither of us are personal trainers but have both worked out enough to know what could make a good workout. Each round takes about 15 minutes and the workout goes by quick with some good ol’ Bravo on in the background! We used 7 and 10 pound weights – many of the rounds can be substituted for other workouts. I am pregnant so some had to be modified – jumping jacks can replace the jog in place and K did sit while I did the donkey kicks. Hope you enjoy and please leave feedback!

Valetines.. or should I say, GALentines

For the fourth year in a row, my husband is headed up to the woods of Maine for his annual guys weekend. It is a serious man weekend. No running water, no heat, no cell phone service = no fun in my book! There is at least a cabin with electricity, a wood stove and outhouse and a few beds. With the men away, a few girlfriends and I spend most of the weekend together, inspired by Leslie Knope’s ‘Galentines’ tradition. There is usually a few beverages involved, crafts, attempts to work out and a snow storm. With the weekend upon us I figured I would share a few of my favorite Valentines Day gifts!

Mark & Graham heart shaped paperweight. A few different options and colors available.

A unique piece of art from Etsy – always have to support the makers when we can!

Set of 4 Valentines Heart plates from my favorite, Crate & Barrel

For Her: Cashmere infinity scarf from J. Crew – a great way to add a pop of pink to an outfit, and who doesn’t love cashmere?!

Dogeared ‘Chain Heart’ Pendant Necklace from Nordstroms

For Him: Wicked Good Moccasins from LL Bean With this weekend being one of the colder on record, they will come in handy.

Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker also from Nordstroms

These are just a few ideas – hope everyone has a lovely Valentines/Galentines!

Fall has Arrived!

Fall is officially here! I can not believe how quickly summer went by. It was non stop fun between weekends on the Cape, bachelorette parties/showers/weddings and a week spent in So Cal! I am ready for boot, chunky scarf and sweater season! Today I am going to feature a few of my favorite fall finds found on Etsy !

This beautiful ‘Avery Leather Tote’ by Goforthgoods was one of the first things that caught my eye this morning. Be sure to check them out here

Next up this amazing handmade chunky scarf by the Laima Shop ! There are so many way to wear it and I love the button!

And lastly, who doesn’t love a hat with a pom pom! These are by TarStitch and are available in a ton of colors!

Now back to that real job I go, Happy Wednesday!

Easter Baskets for Adults – Part 2 !

Hope everyone had a nice Easter! Last week I posted here about making some Easter Baskets for Adults – putting them together ended up being a lot more fun than I thought it would be! Thursday night I made these pouches out of canvas with left over scraps and thought they would be cute to fill with some Easter goodies –

For Mr. P I went with a basket I had at home, figured he wouldn’t appreciate a canvas pouch as much as the girls! Here is what I ended up doing for him & for my sister and cousin who were with us Sunday!

Hope everyone has a good week – is it Friday yet ?!

Easter Baskets for Adults!

As you will learn, I am a total last minute gal. I am usually pretty organized but somehow time just gets away from me. That being said – I have decided 3 days before Easter I am going to try to make some adult Easter baskets for my husband, sister and cousin who I will be with this weekend! These aren’t going to be anything crazy, and I definitely don’t want to break the bank! Aside from the standard Easter candy here is what I am thinking! Some good gifts for guys and gals – books, dvd, gift cards, lottery tickets, socks etc. !

For Him –

– Candy

–  Beer Soap

– Deck of Playing Cards

For Her –

– Candy

– OPI Nail Polish

– Chapstick/Lip Gloss

– Monogrammed notepad – Check out these cute ones from Dots of Happiness !

– Handmade 9″x7″ Pouch

– Candles

These are just a few idea’s to start – I’ve included some links as well as some products available at Target where I will be going! I’ll share the final product in a few days!

Creative Flow

Since I started sewing this past summer I have found myself lately a little (ok a lot) obsessed with anything creative – mainly home decor, styling and anything DIY! Even though I have lived in my house for over a year I find myself recently trying to spruce it up and change things. I went to school for Interior Design and would love to pursue that and actually use my degree. For now I’m going to continue my sewing and crafts and use this blog as my creative outlet. Hopefully I can turn this all into a dream job. I am so inspired by the home decor and lifestyle bloggers out there, I think I could spend days just looking at their website and about me to see how they got to where they are today! It is amazing how much there is to see and share through social media. So here goes my first home decor/style blog post!

I just saw this pillows this morning on Rue La La – they have the best selection! They are made by Peking Handicraft Inc (http://www.pkhc.com/)

I can picture them scattered all over a beach or coastal inspired home – they are a great way to add a little something to room, as well as a pop of color! They are all available through on Rue La La today https://www.ruelala.com/boutique/78503/

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
